Hanwha builds a solar power plant in northern Italy

Hanwha Corporation directly invested in a solar power plant complex in Rovigo, northern Italy, by building a 6MW power plant. Rovigo’s power plant complex is one of the biggest in Italy, of 72MW. Hanwha additionally supplied two neighboring power plants with a 12MW solar module each.
The new solar power plant (6MW) was completed in July and the grids were connected at the end of August. Commercial production will begin today, after a month of successful trial run.
The solar power plant uses modules produced by Hanwha SolarOne and the German company Solibra GmbH was in charge of its construction. The plant consists of three areas of 75,000 modules in total, and established high-tech monitoring devices for the prevention of thefts and damage.
Vice President Eun-soo Kim of Hanwha Europe said, “We feel delighted and proud of completing this project, and we expect this to be the touchstone of our growth to be a major solar power producer in Europe.”
Based on the success of the project, Hanwha will continue investing and developing in other solar power plants in Europe next year.
The new Rovigo solar power plant (6MW) is expected to provide about 3,000 households with 7,750,000kWh electricity in total
