Hanwha signs sponsorship contract with Bolton Wanderers FC
Hanwha signed an exclusive sponsorship agreement with the Bolton Wanders FC (Bolton) of England’s Premier League on the 21st at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton’s home ground. This is an exclusive sponsorship for a solar energy company. Bolton is well-known for having Lee Chung-Yong, who plays for the Korean national team.
Hanwha recently drew attention for signing a sponsorship agreement with Germany’s Hamburg SV before signing this deal with Bolton. The ‘Hanwha Solar brand’ is to be delivered to the rest of Europe including England as well as Germany. This is a one-time opportunity for Hanwha to advance its solar business into the European market.
With the sponsorship, Hanwha will have exclusive marketing and promotional rights such as displaying its ‘Hanwha Solar’ brand on Reebok stadium’s electronic display boards.
Hanwha is a front-runner in the solar business and Bolton is one of the most advanced clubs in the league when it comes to environmentally-friendly activities. This agreement is expected to bring about a considerable amount of synergy.
Mr. Lee Sung-Soo, the representative executive of Hanwha’s solar business, said that “as football is England’s most popular sport, this will provide us with a good opportunity to let our brand be known in the European market effectively. We will also engage in active marketing activities in the future so that Hanwha Solar can be known as one of the best solar brands in Europe.
