Hanwha signs a sponsorship deal with Juventus FC
Hanwha signed a one-year (2011~2012) exclusive sponsorship contract with the Italian football club Juventus FC at the President’s Room of the club’s home stadium in Torino.
Under the agreement, Hanwha will be given rights to promote itself as an official Juventus FC sponsor and run LED advertisements at the stadium. It will also expose Hanwha Solar brand on the Juventus’ website and engage in promotional events such as Sponsor Day.
For the celebration of this sponsorship, a match between Juventus FC and Genoa CFC was hosted. In between the games, various events such as ‘Hanwha Solar free kick event’ took place.
Hanwha embarks on sports marketing to raise brand awareness in Europe, the biggest solar energy market in the world, and enlarge its business opportunities.
Hanwha is said to have effectively built the Hanwha Solar brand foundation by sponsorship agreements with Hamburg SV of the German Bundesliga and Bolton Wanderers FC of England’s Premier League.
Besides these sponsorship contracts, Hanwha is running Hanwha Solar advertisements in the stadiums of several other football clubs, such as Everton FC of England, FC Barcelona of Spain, and AS Roma of Italy.
“Hanwha’s sports marketing strategy will be a great way to build the ‘Hanwha Solar’ brand awareness” said Lee Sung-Soo, Chief Strategy Officer of Hanwha’s solar business. “We will do our best to raise Hanwha Solar brand’s global brand awareness through sports marketing”
As a part of the sports marketing strategy, Hanwha officially sponsored “the 26th Asian Men’s Basketball Championship” in China. Supporting the event for China’s most popular sport is seen to have given Hanwha a great result in its solar brand PR.
