Hanwha Solar Energy, a PV project developer, announced on Dec 22nd that it has signed a MOU to install roof-top PV systems for Hwasung’s new Dongtan Distribution Center Complex in Korea while Hanwha SolarOne will supply the PV modules totalling 14MW.
Hanwha will install the PV system on the roofs of all 11 buildings under construction by Mars PFV. The installation work will commence in early 2015 when the building project will be completed and last for up to six months.
The total land area of the distribution complex is 473,000 square meters with a planned architectural area of 916,000 square meters. The total capacity of the PV power plant is approximately 14MW with 11 roof-tops entirely covered by PV modules.
The 14MW PV system is expected to generate electricity sufficient to supply 4,660 households. It will help reducing carbon dioxide emissions, as much as planting 380,000 trees.
Previously, Hanwha SolarOne has supplied 2.24MW solar modules for the roof-top PV plant built in ChangWon industrial district, Korea and 0.8MW for the roof-top PV plant built in GooMi, Korea. The DongTan PV power plant is 6 times bigger in size than the ChangWon plant.
